Where things are at

  • by

I started this site a while ago with the intention of it being a old school of blog to help me get in touch with my high school hobby of building websites on notepad or making some junk of Angelfire or Geocities. I spent a lot of time prior to Internet 2.0 messing around on forums as my more technologically adept friends were trying their hands and building bigger web services than I could imagine or searching through single purpose websites to find information I was after rather than 90% of the internet held between Facebook/Instagram, Twitter/X, Google and Reddit.

In no way am I saying that this site is in any way intended to compete with any major player online. It’s true sole purpose is to reconnect me with the enjoyment I used to feel writing and creating whatever I wanted without some multi-billion dollar company technically having ownership of what I wanted to create.

I’m not alone or unique in disliking social media and in my older age I am grumpy at nearly all forms of contact. But I like to write, and I like to share and I’ve let this website sit empty for too long.

Welcome to an archaic mindset of having a someone online share their point of view and thoughts online without having a billionaire middleman between me and you. There are no ads. There is no profit from this. There is probably no point to this, but it’s here anyway.

Enjoy. Or don’t. This is for me. Not you.

As of right now, I’ve deleted more posts than I have left online. In fact, right now I have only one other post online and it is me supporting a friend’s ambitious project that was abandoned long before completion. I am going to leave it up as a reminder that although I have neglected this site, I haven’t abandoned it. Currently there are no real posts and no regular readers and no pressure to do anything. If I endeavour to have a more regular posting rate, in a few short years I could have many posts and no readers. Living the dream.
